ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: Starts Production, New Logo, & Synopsis

Every year is the biggest year ever for Marvel Studios, however there is little risk of hyperbole in predicting that 2018 will truly be the biggest year for the studio ever. They kick off the year in February with the release of Black Panther that already boasts one of the most watched trailers in marvel history. In May, the culmination of ten years of the Marvel cinematic universe will be brought to the screen in the biggest superhero movie ever, Avengers: Infinity War. However, while it’s understandable that he is overlooked, don’t forget that Marvel’s littlest hero will be returning next summer as well, in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Last month, Marvel Studios made a splash in Hall H of San Diego Comic Con. The first project presented to the crowd of over 6,000 rabid fans was the sequel to Ant-Man. The studio made huge waves by revealing the casting of Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne, as Janet Van Dyne aka the Wasp and Dr. Bill Foster aka Goliath, respectively. The reveal was made in a short video led by Paul Rudd and Michael Pena, however that footage is still not available to the public.

In any case, the cameras have officially begun rolling on Ant-Man and the Wasp and it looks like it’s shaping up to become another sleeper hit. The sequel brings back Rudd and Pena, along with Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Walter Goggins, along with the aforementioned Pfeiffer and Fishburne. To commemorate the beginning of shooting, Marvel has released a short clip that features the smallest director chairs in the business, which is an indication that production has started.

We also got our first official synopsis for the upcoming sequel. This is only the beginning of a lot more Ant-Man coverage, so get ready for a wild year.

Official Synopsis:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: Ant-Man and The Wasp.
