While the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer may have set the internet ablaze, the trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still remains one of the best trailers to be released this year. Zack Snyder, talking with 411 Mania, recently offered up a few bits information about the story, when we can expect to see the next trailer and the Batmobile.
This film is going to have some major expectations to meet, given the fact that it is going to be our first true introduction into the DC Extended Universe, and Snyder is taking that challenge seriously.
“Part of the thing I really want to create is the possibility of a world where they could exist together. I think up to this point, it’s been difficult to suggest a world where Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman and others could exist in the same universe.”
As far as the next trailer, the director feels that they should have a second trailer “soon.” With the conversation moving towards the new Batmobile, Snyder dropped a few choice words to describe what it will look like, and what it will be capable of doing.
Fans of the Batman: Arkham Knight video game will be quite pleased to hear the similarities Snyder brings up between their Batmobile and the one in the game.
“It has the countermeasures — we always talk about the countermeasures because people are like, ‘What the heck is countermeasures?’ You know if I shot a missile at it, flares would pop out of those holes and stop the missile from hitting it. So that’s fun. It’s got this crazy gun [on the front part of the vehicle]. It’s super-fast. It’s electrified. It can do all the other Bat-car stuff.”
He goes on to emphasize that this Batmobile is going to be a “purpose built” vehicle. Those two words, coupled with the footage of the Batmobile in action that we’ve seen in the trailer and Snyder’s overall description, it looks like this Batmobile is going to be like none other. It’s easy to imagine that this war-weary version of Batman will have all sorts of “counter measures” installed in this bad boy. We will see if it’s enough to take down the Man of Steel in just a few short months…
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th, 2016.
