BATMAN VS TWO-FACE Trailer: Adam West vs William Shatner

One of last year’s most nostalgic and smile-inducing releases was the animated feature Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which saw the return of 1960’s era Adam West and Burt Ward in their iconic roles as Batman and Robin respectively. The movie, much like The Batman LEGO Movie, served as a light-hearted look at the Batman’s most popular television show, that defined the character for a generation.

West unfortunately passed away earlier this summer, however not before finishing his final role as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming Batman vs Two-Face. It looks to serve as the perfect swan song for an actor whose cadence, delivery, and syntax, will live on forever.

The follow-up has an ace in the hole, in the voice box of Star Trek icon William Shatner, who voices Harvey “Two Face” Dent in the movie. The actor grew to fame in the heyday of the Batman TV show, so his addition feels wholly organic and is the perfect vocal foil for West and Ward. A new trailer for the movie was released today presents a sequel that seems to take itself more seriously than its predecessor and could be even more engaging.

The movie is highlighted by a retelling of the Two-Face origin, which has remained relatively consistent. If the movie is received well, it will be interesting to see if any elements remain in the larger canon going forward. Check out the trailer:
