Box Office Report – ‘Apes’ Rule Supreme

Proving that audiences don’t just want to “shut their brain off” when watching summer movies, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes took the top spot at the box office, making $73 million over the weekend. Getting knocked to second place is Transformers: Age of Extinction  with $16.5 million in it’s third week of release. Tammy had a decent second week with almost $13 million dollars. 22 Jump Street add another $6.7 million to its hefty total. And coming in fifth is How to Train Your Dragon 2 with almost $6 million dollars. Here is the detailed box office totals for the weekend o f 7/11-7/13:
