The feature film adaptation of the popular board game, Ouija, benefited from the Halloween spirit and finished in first place over the past weekend. Despite mediocre reviews the movie managed to make $2o million dollars, in its first week of release.
The horror film bested, John Wick, which was enjoying a significant buzz with both critics and audiences, In its first week, the Keanu Reeves led action film pulled $14.2 million dollars over the weekend in its first week of release.
In week number two, David Ayer’s Fury, filled the third position making $13 million dollars. The World War II film is going strong powered by outstanding performances and a dynamic director.
Gone Girl made $11.1 million dollars in its fourth week of release. The thriller has performed extraordinarily well, making over $124 million dollars since its debut.
Rounding out the top five is the animated family film, The Book of Life, which generated $9.8 million dollars.
