Box Office Report – ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Proves There Is Life Left In the Franchise

Nothing in life is ever certain… except that Transformers: Age of Extinction would be the top movie over the past weekend. It wasn’t a question of if it was going to be number one. The only mystery was how much would Michael Bay’s latest film pull in. The answer is $100 million dollars! Muahahahahaha! (That’s my best studio executive or Michael Bay impersonation.) Coming in second was 22 Jump Street with $15.4 million for the weekend, both this and How to Train Your Dragon 2 are holding strong in their third week of release. How to Train Your Dragon 2 came in third with an estimated $13.1 million dollars. Think Like A Man Too dropped from first to fourth place with $10.4 million dollars. And rounding out the top five is Maleficent, which made another $8.2 million dollars for Disney in it’s fifth week in theaters. Here is the entire box office report for 6/27-29, 2014:
