Tom & Jerry. Fred & Barney. Pinky & the Brain. Walter White & Jesse…?

Maybe just as iconic of a television duo as any mentioned, Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are certainly not known for comedy. In this short film and commercial for the Emmys by the Television Academy, called Barely Legal Pawn, they go toe-to-toe with Seinfeld alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) in proving the worth of dramatic versus comedic acting. The results are pretty hilarious.

It is good to see those two on-screen again. Until Vince Gilligan figures out a way to work them into the upcoming Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul. We will take what we can get. Louis-Dreyfus is funny as always with her ability to keep a straight face in the most bizarre of circumstances. Hopefully there will be some more creative shorts to come in the near future.
