Keanu Reeves may not be many things, but one thing he has proven to be is an action star. His upcoming film John Wick may not prove to be many things, but it looks to have some ridiculous action sequences and gunplay.
The film is being helmed by first time director Chad Stahelski, who made his name as a stunt coordinator on films such as, The Hunger Games and Killer Elite. As impressive as the action credentials are for this film, the cast that came together for the movie is equally intriguing. The film features Reeves, Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Bridget Moynahan (Blue Bloods, Battle Los Angeles), William Dafoe (Spider-Man), Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Agents of SHIELD), and Lance Reddick (The Wire) among others. Which gives confidence that in between roundhouse kicks and firing rounds, the acting should be up to par as well.
The movie is about a former hitman, John Wick, who is assaulted by a syndicate that doesn’t understand the full scope of Wick’s past. This attack awakens the inner beast in the assassin, who then goes all Yosemite Sam on everyone who has done him… and his dog wrong. Check out the trailer:
