Welcome back to another edition of Clips That Make Us Smile! There is more to laugh at this week than the new picture of Suicide Squad’s Joker. We have a hilarious breakdown of the new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Then we take a look back at Man of Steel and watch Video Lab reimagine the film with a little bit more color. Mr. Sunday Movies takes you on an animated historical journey, explaining the failed script for 2003’s Batman vs Superman movie that never filmed. Finally, Kevin Smith directs a short film starring Marvel Comics’ legend Stan Lee, who has created his own school of acting…for cameo actors. Enjoy!
Honest Trailer – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
After a long wait to see Batman square off against Superman in live-action, the trailer leaked online forcing WB to release the trailer early. However it happened to debut the exact same day as the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, so it lost a lot of the impact that it otherwise may have had. Well leave it to the Screen Junkies to walk you through the epic teaser trailer one more time…like only they can.
Stan Lee Cameo School
Everybody who loves Marvel grew up with Stan Lee. Whether you were introduced to Lee when he used to narrate the Saturday morning cartoon, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Or through his editorials at the end of every Marvel Comics’ issue in the 70’s and 80’s, that made it feel like he was speaking directly to the reader. Or perhaps at a comic convention taking pictures with fans. And he’s in almost every Marvel movie, just to remind everyone who really created the MCU. This guy surely knows how to make an impact. It’s almost impossible to think of a Marvel superhero without thinking of Stan the Man. However, Lee doesn’t stand up for the heroes, he stands up for the common man that nobody notices. Kevin Smith directs the short film, Stan Lee Cameo School, that is jam-packed full of hilarity, cameos…and Stan Lee! Enjoy!
What If ‘Man of Steel’ Was in Color?
The head of Warner Bros, Kevin Tsujihara, explained last year that they were looking to distinguish their brand by telling grittier and darker stories. No director embodies that sensibility more than Zack Snyder. His films are mature and edgy, with huge a visual flair that rarely fits into the real world. Snyder set the tone for the world of DC Comics on film with 2013’s Man of Steel. Video Lab takes a look at that film and reimagines it in full color. It is a fun video that also shows you how much color correction and the post-production process can affect a film.
Cancelled ‘Batman vs Superman’ Movie – Mr. Sunday Movies
There is a lot of hype leading up to the epic fight between Batman and Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However this isn’t the first time that Warner Bros tried to bring the superhero brawl to the big screen. The hilarious duo at the Weekly Planet walks you through the story line for the failed 2003 production. Enjoy!
