Disney is doing quite well for themselves. They have acquired Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios over the past decade or so. Their animation division has scored two huge hits in a row with Wreck-It-Ralph and Frozen and now they are taking on Big Hero 6. Big Hero 6 is the first animated Marvel superhero project for Disney. It seems they have taken some liberties with the source material to make it more appealing and kid-friendly. Despite some dark imagery of the villain, it seems this project is firmly grounded as all-around family entertainment. Here is the trailer:
While not revealing much of the plot or action set-pieces, it is clear that this will have a large amount of comedy and levity. Big Hero 6 takes place in the fictional city of San Fransokyo. It follows a young engineering genius Hiro Hamada and his robotic sidekick Baymax, as they attempt to uncover a nefarious plot, with the help of some other super-powered youths. It will be in theaters November 7th, 2014.
