It looks as if the latest follow-up to Jurassic Park is shaping up. Jurassic World, will be directed by the upstart Colin Trevorrow and will at least be executive produced by Steven Spielberg. (I suppose we take what we can get.) The production has already picked up the soon to be famous, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the lead in the film. He is to be joined by Bryce Dallas Howard as the two leads of the movie.
Deadline is reporting that Vincent D’Onofrio (Law and Order, Men in Black) and Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, The Amazing Spiderman) are to join the cast in a yet undisclosed villainous capacity. (Deadline on Jurassic World) Both actors are more than at home playing creepy antagonists, so its only a matter of revealing exactly what role they play in the story and which one gets to unlock the “cages.”
There are many unanswered questions about the upcoming sequel, starting with, if there is even a demand for one after these many years. This however was seemingly confirmed in 2013 when Jurassic Park was brought back to theaters in 3D. It made an impressive $18.2 million dollars its opening weekend which was all the confirmation Universal needed to dust off their T-rex of a franchise.
