There have been a distinct lack of high-concept science fiction films in recent years, but, given a entertaining, dreadfully interesting couple of trailers, Edge of Tomorrow seems poised to bring something more than explosions to theaters this summer.
Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s All You Need is Kill, (I am in love with that title, by the way) the film pits Emily Blunt (Wolfman) and Tom Cruise (Oblivion) together as two soldiers who, for the reasons the film—hopefully—will explain, die and wake up a day earlier. As you’ll see in the trailer, this is far from a blessing.
Check it out, and try not to get stuck in your head:
We at Point of Geeks think that this movie will prove Emily Blunt has what it takes to take the Wonder Woman role from Gal Gadot. And, boy, are we hoping that happens. While the trailer suggests that there will be some sexual tension between the two leads, it also seems like Blunt is going to have some action-packed sequences where the character proves more than a mere “love interest.”
Are you going to see this at midnight on June 6th like we are? Let us know!
