Nintendo 64 harkens back to a very specific time in gaming history when rampant experimentation lead to groundbreaking gameplay. Nintendo used their huge library of popular characters and licenses to carry their gaming system into a new era of 3D and multiplayer connectivity. Games such as Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Goldeneye, were just some of the games that laid the foundation for modern gaming.
