Welcome back for another week of the Epic Comicast podcast. It was an interesting week in geek entertainment news and the ECC podcast team is here to walk you through some of the biggest stories.
Chris Pine is locked in as Steve Trevor, the very human soldier and sometimes love interest of Wonder Woman. TC and Karina give their thoughts on Pine taking on that secondary role in Wonder Woman, as opposed to him wearing the Green Lantern ring in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie. They also get into the controversy over the classic Batman tale “The Killing Joke” and examine if the brutal storyline still has relevance, or if it sends the wrong message to Batgirl’s enormous fanbase. Wrestling lost one of its legends in the past week and ECC gives their thoughts on Roddy Piper’s career and impact as well.
For the main event, Epic Comicast breaks down Jon Schnepp’s mind-blowing documentary on the failed movie production of Superman, that was being developed in the late 90’s. The documentary uncovers the true story behind the development of Superman Lives, from the people that were creating it. Including Tim Burton, Kevin Smith, Jon Peters, and a host of others. ECC walks you through some of the film’s more memorable moments, while giving their thoughts on the movie that never was. Get ready for an awesome episode!
