The Epic Comicast podcast is back and they are bringing the green! TC and Karina, the epic brother and sister duo, have a grab bag of fun this week as they traverse the world of geek and bring you the awesomeness!
Halloween is around the corner and clearly the ECC crew is already getting in the spirit. Karina discusses her costume plans for the festive holiday, while TC is a little bit harder to motivate. They also give their thoughts on the new phenomenon hitting couches everywhere, known as Netflix and Chill.
Green Lantern has had a rough time translating from the pages of DC Comics to the big screen. In 2011, the hopes of comic fans everywhere were crushed when WB’s disastrous adaptation opened in theaters. Aside from Ryan Reynolds doing his best to bring Hal Jordan to life, the film was plagued by an incomprehensible script and an unbalanced tone. It was doubly disappointing because just two years earlier we got an exceptional animated feature adaptation, Green Lantern: First Flight.
The 2009 direct to video movie featured the voices of Christopher Meloni (Man of Steel) as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Victor Garber (The Flash) as Sinestro, Michael Madsen (Kill Bill) as Kilowog, who all have geek cred and bring their characters to life in exceptional ways. The ECC crew breaks down First Flight and explain why this is the definitive Green Lantern movie. Get ready for the podcast that will take you from here to the other side of the galaxy. Enjoy!
