Welcome back to a special edition of the Epic Comicast podcast! Hopefully you had an incredible Thanksgiving weekend! It’s the perfect time to catch up with family, friends, and the latest TV shows that you love to binge on.
This month Netflix released their second Marvel produced show with Jessica Jones. It follows the smash hit Daredevil, which showed a violent and seedy side of the Marvel universe that had not been explored yet. Now Jessica Jones has done the same, but has stretched the boundaries even further. Krysten Ritter stars as the private investigator with a troubled past, who happens to have extraordinary powers. The show introduces one of the MCU’s greatest new villains with Kilgrave, played by David Tennant, who possesses the power of mind control and a dark connection with Jessica.
This week the ECC crew has a special episode where they break down the first season of Jessica Jones. Karina and TC give their thoughts on the performances, tone, and the efforts that were made to distance the series from the greater Marvel cinematic universe. (This episode recaps the entire season, so there are plenty of spoilers.) Get ready to dig into the MCU like only Epic Comicast can. Enjoy!
