It was enormous week for fans of DC and Marvel on film, as everyone was treated to new trailers for Legends of Tomorrow, Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It seems that both superhero worlds are turning their battles inward and it should make for an explosive 2016. The Epic Comicast podcast takes this week’s episode to dig into the new footage, controversies, and excitement about the two monumental movies.
The trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been surprisingly polarizing. The marketing campaign for the epic superhero battle is in full swing as the movie will be released in just three short months. The latest trailer showed off the scope of film, Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor, and the first reveal of Doomsday. The trailer sparked controversy as many (particularly comic fans) felt that the newest footage gave away too much of the film’s plot. The ECC crew dig into the uproar and break down the entire trailer…just for you!
Marvel debuted its first trailer for Captain America: Civil War earlier in the week as well. The footage was well-received overall, as fans found themselves getting misty eyed by the pending battle between Iron Man and Captain America. The trailer also revealed Black Panther for the first time in live-action and was followed by a questionable cover story on EW that is touched on as well. TC and Karina also take a look at the Winter Soldier who seems to be at the center of the conflict. While also speculating on who might not make it until the end of the movie.
