Welcome back to another episode of the Epic Comicast podcast! This episode is jam-packed with content as there were a plethora of stories and new debuts in the geek world. So sit back as Karina and TC walk you through all of the recent awesomeness in an Epic fashion.
It was a great week for comic book movie fans as Warner Bros formally announced their plans for their DC cinematic universe. In the TV special The Dawn of the Justice League, which was hosted by director Kevin Smith and DC Comics legend Geoff Johns, the entire upcoming slate was laid out for audiences. They previewed concept art for the Justice League movie, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern Corps, Cyborg, and an in-depth look at Wonder Woman. In addition to all of the film news, CW also premiered their new spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow, which had an explosive debut. Epic Comicast goes through all of the major DC announcements, while giving their thoughts and expectations for the respective franchises.
They also premiered the new trailer for this year’s upcoming hit, Suicide Squad. It showed off more of the film’s humor and memorable characters, such as Jai Courtney, Deadshot, and Joker taking a “chemical bath” with Harley Quinn, while reintroducing “Bohemian Rhapsody” to pop culture once again. The dynamic ECC crew breaks down the trailer in a historic week for fans.
The world lost another great talent in actor Alan Rickman (Die Hard, Harry Potter) in the past week, so TC and Karina review one of his more memorable movies with the science-fiction comedy, Galaxy Quest. The movie also features Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Sam Rockwell, among others, in a timely satire on sci-fi heroism. So get ready for another great trip through the Geek universe with Epic Comicast. Enjoy the podcast!
