Godzilla has returned to theaters in a smashing fashion. It’s one of the biggest openings of 2014, pulling in an estimated $93.2 million dollars. The rebooted film seemed to work for those who remembered the previous incarnations and for the newest generation, just introduced to the behemoth. Coming in second was the Seth Rogen comedy Neighbors which made another $26 million bringing its domestic total to over $91 million. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 held strong with a shade under $17 million. Walt Disney’s true baseball story, Million Dollar Arm opened softly at fourth with an estimated $10.5 million dollars. Rounding out fifth place was The Other Woman with over $6 million dollars. Here is the box office top ten for May 16th-18th:
