Ever wonder about what the deal was with Harry Houdini and his whole magic-escaping thing? The History Channel and Adrien Brody (‘The Pianist’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’) are bringing a two-night event to the small screen in hopes to satisfy your curiosity! Brody looks convincing as one of the greatest magicians of all time, but the rest of the trailer is surprisingly predictable. Not content with the drama of a man hanging upside, escaping from a tank full of water and a set of manacles, The History Channel cranks up the sex and violence, too. Why is there sex and violence in a movie about a magician, you might ask. Because movies are SUPPOSED to have sex and violence, of course! I don’t expect much from this two-parter based on the trailer, but maybe it has a little magic up its sleeve.
