After the debut of their third series, Luke Cage, it’s clear that Marvel and Netflix have found their groove as they continue to churn out hit shows. Daredevil and Jessica Jones were the first out of the gates and next spring Iron Fist will round out the four shows that make up The Defenders.
Earlier this year, we and revealed that Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones had been secretly cast as Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in his own series. Filming on the upcoming Netflix show has been going for months and today we get an official look at the new show.
Take heed of all the people that Rand has already taken out. While Daredevil delivered on ninja action, in order for Iron Fist to really differentiate itself, the martial arts choreography will have to be the series’ calling card. Danny Rand’s story is more epic than what we have seen thus far in the Marvel/Netflix space, with the adventure spanning from New York to the other side of the world.
We already know that the cast is much larger than has been hinted at in early set pictures and promotions. Well known faces in the world of Marvel will be showing up in the series such as Colleen Wing, Harold Meachum, and the return of Jeri Hogarth. Fortunately, there is less than half a year before we can binge this as well. Enjoy.
Official Synopsis:
Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
Iron Fist premieres on Netflix on March 17th, 2017.
