Warner Bros. has finally gotten their act together and started the DC Extended Universe, which has been a long time coming. It started with Man of Steel, which got some mixed reviews and didn’t break $1 billion worldwide, and now the universe continues to expand with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. You’re getting Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Cyborg – so many great DC characters will finally be able to share the screen together. However, some recent reports from certain sources might be spelling trouble, much like what Man of Steel went through, which is one of the worst things we could be hearing right now.
Some execs at Warner, and some others, have seen the film and according to Drew McWeeny at HitFix, the studio isn’t feeling 100% confident right now.
“My guess is what’s going to happen is based on what I’m hearing… I’ve talked to enough people who have seen the film now that I’m starting to sweat a little, is Justice League is going to get moved back and that Ben Affleck Batman movie, that’s what’s going to end up in that spot. My guess is they’re going to throw whatever money it takes at Ben Affleck to make that Batman film happen sooner rather than later. They’re going to need to rebuild again, they’re going to need to win people over, they’re going to need to lay some different groundwork. I don’t think this is going to be the springboard into the Justice League that they wanted it to be.”
