It is hard to tell what is more unbelievable about The Bad Batch, the premise of the film or the collection of talent that have been cast in it. Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey are joining Jason Momoa in the movie that has been described as a “cannibal love story.” Bet you didn’t see that coming, huh?

Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves both had resurgent years in 2014. Carrey got a bowl cut and jumped back into the wacky Dumb and Dumber franchise. The comedy sequel, Dumb and Dumber To, opened in first place proving audiences still have a soft spot for the acclaimed comedian and actor. While Reeves proved that at 50 years of age, he is as capable an action hero as any actor working today, in the kinetic John Wick. 

The upcoming post-apocalyptic movie, The Bad Batch, is set to be directed by Ana Lily Amirpour, who made a splash last year with her vampire movie, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, at the Sundance Film Festival. As of now details are scarce on The Bad Batch, however The Wrap shared the the basic story.

A post-apocalyptic tale set in a Texas wasteland where a community of cannibals reside, “The Bad Batch” is described as a love story about a cannibal known as Miami Man (Momoa) and his food.

The movie is set to be released next year and it seems like it will be one of the most bizarre films of the year. Reeves is playing The Dream, while Carrey is playing The Hermit. If we are lucky the visuals will be inspired by the characters and feel of Mad Max and Borderlands. The collection of actors is so ecclectic, it is hard to imagine them all in the same frame. So particularly with Carrey, expect a full character transformation. They will also be joined by Suki Waterhouse and Diego Luna.
