JUSTICE LEAGUE’S Zack Synder Seemingly Confirms Deathstroke in His Film

Sometimes when there is smoke there is fire. And when there is a Deathstroke on set, it’s because he is in the movie.

Earlier this month Ben Affleck released a brief video on Twitter confirming the presence of fan favorite DC Comics’ character, Deathstroke. The brief clip appeared to be shot by a camera phone, filming a playback of the character in motion. Thanks to a possibly erroneous report from The Wrap, it was largely assumed (well…not by the PoG) that the character would be first appearing in the Batman solo movie.

Despite taking a huge beating from critics and some fans over his last film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, director Zack Snyder continues to be the public face of his sequel, Justice League. He appeared at this past summer’s San Diego Comic Con to present a sneak peek and talk briefly about his much anticipated film. He also has tweeted pictures to his Twitter followers of Jason Momoa in costume and gave the world its first look at J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon in the DCEU.

Today, Snyder has dropped another interesting clue to the Justice League with this tweet.

It’s fun to see the director seemingly enjoying the job, by doing some storyboard work while wearing one of Batman’s iconic gauntlets. That would have been a fun tweet in itself. However, thanks to Batman-News, we see that there is much more to this picture than might meet the eye at first.

If you enhance the photo and turn it upside down, it’s clear that Snyder is working on scene with Deathstroke, without his mask on. This is a clear indication, along with the recent casting of Joe Manganiello, that the famous DC villain will be appearing in next year’s blockbuster. Many speculated that the character would be introduced in Ben Affleck’s solo movie, however that never made much logistical sense since the release is at least two years away.

It’s clear that Deathstroke will have a significant role in the future of the DCEU, with probable appearances in two movies already lined up. With so much skepticism after the releases of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, it seems that WB and Snyder are maximizing their publicity with their grassroots marketing. With still over fourteen months until the movie’s release, this certainly is not the last positive news to come out of the DC camp.

Official Synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League opens in theaters November 17, 2017.
