Welcome back for another week of the Epic Comicast podcast! The ECC crew has another awesome episode that examines the Geek world in epic fashion. “Get over here,” sit back, and get ready.
There were multiple reveals of iconic characters this past week. Jesse Eisenberg’s first publicity photo, in character as Lex Luthor, was released and it fanned the flames of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice all over the internet. That was followed up by Ryan Reynolds, who tweeted the first official look at Deadpool. The picture also gave us a clear look at his suit and the tone that seems to be directly lifted from the comics.
In 1995, one of the biggest video game to film adaptations ever made at the time, Mortal Kombat, hit theaters. The film was based on the hugely popular video game of the same name, in which players enter a tournament where they are pitted against each other in a bloody fight to the death. It starred Christopher Lambert (Highlander) and was a moderate hit that spawned a sequel. The ECC crew takes a look back at the Mortal Kombat movie and breaks it down, on the twentieth year anniversary of its release. Enjoy the podcast!
