George Miller (Babe) defined the post-apocalyptic landscape in cinema with his trilogy of Mad Max films, over 30 years ago. So much so, that it is hard to imagine a barren wasteland without the iconography he coined. His vision can be seen in modern movies and games, such as Book of Eli, The Road and Borderlands. Well he is coming back to the property he made famous in Mad Max: Fury Road. This is a project of passion for Miller. He has been trying to get this made for the better part of a decade, however the timing seems to be just right. Welcome back to the world of Mad Max:
It’s amazing how Miller has kept the clarity of his vision. Yet clearly isn’t bothered by nostalgia and is using all of the modern cinema techniques, combined with awesome real-life stunt work and crashes. That footage is the pure definition of exhilarating and now anticipation for the film is through the roof. What a lovely (opening) day it will be…
The cast features Tom Hardy (Dark Knight Rises), Charlize Theron (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past). Mad Max: Fury Road will be in theaters May 15th, 2015.
