The wait is almost over as Marvel and Netflix’s master plan will finally come together in 2017. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, set the stage for the formation of The Defenders. The crime-fighting team is comprised of those three heroes and Iron Fist, the final Defender to be introduced this Spring. 

If you have been reading PoG for the past year, you have seen how we have tracked the show’s development. While also revealing key parts of what to expect from the series including Iron Fist’s star Finn Jones, key casting additions, and character breakdowns. He is joined on the show by Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones), Carrie Anne Moss (Jessica Jones),  and Rosario Dawson (The LEGO Batman Movie), among other notables and it looks to have a fresh, modern take. 

The new series looks to be more focused on action and fun than its predecessors. For the uninitiated, Iron Fist focuses on Danny Rand (Jones), a child who was lost in the mountains as a child. He found a mystical, hidden city that raised him and trained him in the ways of martial arts. Rand excelled and gained the magical power of the Iron Fist and returned to New York to reclaim his empire and to get justice for his parents who suffered tragic deaths. Official Synopsis:

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres March 17, 2017 exclusively on Netflix.
