In comic stores everywhere this month is Marvel’s Darth Vader #6. Like the entire line of Star Wars comics Marvel launched early this year, they all pick up right after the destruction of the first Death Star. And, so far, none of the books has taken a hand off the hyperdrive. We’re smack dab in the middle of a Star Wars Renaissance, people, and these comic books represent some of the most intriguing, enriching stories from the Star Wars Universe we’ve seen so far.

Following his failure to prevent the destruction of the Death Star, Lord Vader’s quest for redemption has taken him to the Outer Rim territory, where he must lead a personal army of battle droids against a team of cybernetic warriors created by his own master, Emperor Palpatine.
