Director Luc Besson is no stranger to making hard-hitting action films starring female protagonists. Look no further than the action classics, La Femme Nikita and The Professional, to see evidence of how special his films can be. After spending at least three Marvel films as the superbly agile spy, the Black Widow, it seems that Scarlett Johansson was having a little power-envy and got her own starring superhero role in Lucy. She stars as Lucy, a woman who gets involved in drug smuggling in Asia. The drug somehow unlocks the potential of her brain and a telekinetic adventure begins. Check out the trailer:

 

 

Lucy will hit theaters August 8th, 2014. It is written and directed by Luc Besson. It stars Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman.
