Disney’s Star Wars machine is just starting to get into gear. They are bringing back the Star Wars universe in a big way over the next few years. The upcoming animated show Star Wars Rebels kicks off in October, multiple Star Wars live-action films are in development and next year they will be unveiling their plans for new Star Wars attractions, in both Disneyland and Disney World. This is truly the calm before the storm.
In anticipation of the fall premiere, Disney has released this 3 minute film set in the world of Star Wars Rebels. It manages to pack just about all the fun 180 seconds can allow for. Dogfights, comedic droids and bantering between the co-pilots make this more than worth it’s price of admission. (We will do the math rzocoruse.com later.) If this is an indication of what is to come the next few years, we might soon be realizing how much we actually missed Star Wars. Here is the synopsis (via Slashfilm):
In “The Machine in the Ghost,” a special Star Wars Rebels short, the rebels’ Ghost starship is under attack by a wave of TIE fighters. Hera pilots the craft, while Kanan tries to blast the Imperials from the Ghost’s gunner. While they do evade and shoot down several TIEs, it’s up to astromech droid Chopper to finish the job – even if he’s reluctant to do so.
Star Wars Rebels premieres on October 17th on Disney XD. Let us know what you think about this on the comment boards, and !
