Star Wars Rebels is the new CGI television show coming to Disney XD from Lucasfilm. While most of the attention of rabid fans is focused on the developments of the upcoming theatrical features, many are eagerly awaiting this new show. It will take place five years before the events of Star Wars IV: A New Hope. The show will focus on Ezra Bridger who joins a small crew of resistance fighters, who have all encountered the Galactic Empire in different ways. This will be the story of their struggle and the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance that takes down the Empire in the Original Trilogy. Check out the trailer:
Well, it certainly feels like a Star Wars property. Space battles, lightsabers and John Williams classic score all pull the right strings. Hopes are high for this show after the quality of The Clone Wars. Original Trilogy characters will be showing up from time to time, including Billy Dee Williams’ return as Lando Calrissian! It is unclear if the show will give any indication of what to expect in the feature-film series however. But the mere possibility of getting clues into the future of Star Wars universe is exciting. There will be much more Star Wars Rebels info flooding in over the course of the next week, so hold on to your seat!
