Superman and the Lone Ranger Team-Up in ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ Trailer

One of the last spy television shows from the 1960’s to not get the big screen treatment is The Man From U.N.C.L.E.. Well it is about to get its moment in the sun. After years of wading in developmental hell, which saw every actor from George Clooney to Tom Cruise set to star in the adaptation. Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill and The Lone Ranger’s Armie Hammer wound up securing the roles and it looks there is barely enough room in the camera’s frame for the two behemoths.

The movie looks like a light-hearted action romp with heavy influences from Ocean’s Eleven and X-Men: First Class. The film’s 1960’s setting gives the trailer a playful tone and clearly Cavill and Hammer were intrigued with the idea of playing with foreign accents. With the upcoming release of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Spectre, it is clear that action films with an international flavor and appeal are getting their time in the sun. It will be interesting to see how audiences accept Cavill in a role other than Superman. Director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) seems to be having fun experimenting with his actors and manages to inject the trailer with his trademark manic energy and wit. Enjoy the trailer.

Official Synopsis:
