It has been a long road getting the Ghostbusters franchise back onto the big-screen. The last time being in 1989 with Ghostbusters 2, which was a financial hit, but a critical failure that led to twenty-five years of development apathy. Finally, Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) pitched a rebooted version of the movie, featuring an all-female cast in the leads and the wheels began to turn.

There has not been much solid information on the plot or the characters that we can be expecting in the upcoming movie. However, Collider has compiled character descriptions of the four leads.

• Kristen Wiig plays Erin Gilbert, a particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior.
• Kate McKinnon is Jillian Holtzmann, a nuclear engineer, munitions expert, and proton wrangler.
• Melissa McCarthy is Abby Yates, a paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist, and entity trapper.
• Leslie Jones is Patty Tolan, a ghost tracker, municipal historian, and metaphysical commando

Feig assembled this quartet of comedic actresses, as the new incarnation of Ghostbusters. Along with a supporting cast that features Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, and Michael K. Williams. It also seems that each member has a plausible specialization and purpose within the group. It will be interesting to find out how grounded Feig’s world full of undead ghouls will ultimately be. While we still haven’t gotten a look at the the new Ghostbusters in action, typically when a studio releases promotional material like this, a trailer follows closely behind. So we will save our speculation until that drops momentarily. So for now, take a look at the new faces, mouths, and backs of the new Ghostbusters!
