Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in a class of his own. A truly Herculean superstar in movies, who has no physical match in the world of acting. Studio heads had hit a dead-end and run out of ideas for the thespian. There was no one actor strong enough to share a movie screen, so they came up with a brilliant plan. They would pit The Rock against the Earth, planet Earth that is, in a battle to the death. And from the looks of the first trailer, the Earth might get knocked the %#@& out by the Dwayne Johnson.
San Andreas is reuniting Johnson with director Brad Peyton. The two last collaborated on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, so you know this has to be…at least better than that. Yea…In any case, it looks like this will be a fun ride through our collective subconscious’ biggest fears! This production has been on the radar for months, but in no way was I anticipating the level of disaster porn about to be unleashed. It’s also curious why they cast such a brutish lead for an earthquake flick, aside from his ability to convincingly hang out of a helicopter. It seems that the drama is centered around him reuniting with his family. You would assume they would lean towards a dramatic actor first. Unless…we can all get our wish and see The Rock actually punch the Earth back! “It doesn’t matter what your fault name is!”
Check out the trailer.
