The Teaser Trailer for ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ Hits Hard

When Marvel’s Daredevil hits Neflix’s queue in April it will mark of the beginning of a new chapter in Marvel Studios. The studio has enjoyed an enormous amount of success in the past decade, beginning with Iron Man all the way through Guardians of the Galaxy. That success was created by a guiding set of principles when they were making each film. They have consistently respected the source material, blended genres, included humor for levity, and have kept all of their movies accessible for the entire family. When Marvel partnered with Netflix it gave them the chance to branch outside of their comfort zone and it looks like they are taking their first opportunity with Daredevil.

Marvel’s street level superheroes and vigilantes seem to have found their home on Netflix and if you want to highlight a hero who actually bleeds, Daredevil is a great place to start. The show is being brought to life by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus), while Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) are serving as executive producers on the series. It stars Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and features as established film actors such as Vondie Curtis Hall as Ben Urich, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Vincent D’Onofrio as the menacing Kingpin. From the looks of the teaser trailer, Marvel isn’t pulling any punches with this one. Enjoy the trailer.

It looks like a solid crime story, where the lines between good and bad have been blurred. Daredevil has always been one of the more well-written comics in Marvel’s library, so there is a healthy pool of source material to adapt and play with. There is a lot to be optimistic about in the world of Marvel and April can’t get here soon enough.
