It’s been quite a journey for The Legend of Korra. The drama and action that has been playing out behind-the-scenes, has been just as epic as the journey Korra has embarked upon onscreen in the past four seasons. By almost all audience and critical accounts, the show is near the top of the industry in both animation and storytelling. However, it has been a rocky road getting it delivered to the public. After an almost one year hiatus between season 1 and 2, The Legend of Korra came back strong with a strengthened animation department and the show found its legs. In the show’s third season, it was unceremoniously taken off the air. The remainder of the show was available only digitally. Well just as fans have finally caught their breath from an exhilarating close to season three, Nickelodeon announced season four is coming soon. Like really soon. In like a week from now…
This is the final season of the epic saga which spun off, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The original show’s final season had heartbreaking and dramatic reveals that are usually reserved for only live-action films. By the looks of the trailer, The Legend of Korra is looking to continue following in it’s predecessor’s footsteps. The action will pick up three years after the events of the third season. In the conclusion to the third season, Korra made a selfless decision that left her disabled. It will be an emotional journey seeing her recovery and what pieces are left to pick up. It should also be exhilarating to see how all the supporting character have grown, including the kids with their new airbending flight suits. The inclusion of The Last Airbender regular, Toph, assures that the finale will give closure to both Avatar and Korra’s story.
