Time To Get Weird! The ‘Jupiter Ascending’ Trailer ft. Channing Tatum & Mila Kunis

Sometimes a movie looks so out of control, you watch it just so you can document the incident. Before you can officially say, “that was the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen.” You have to validate it, by actually watching it unfortunately. Did anyone think Batman & Robin was going to be good? Nope. We went to see if it could really be that bad. Other times you go because you understand some film’s stories can’t be marketed. They have to be experienced and that is how you find the hidden gems.

Jupiter Ascending seems to be more of the former than latter, but the movie has extremely talented people involved. Channing Tatum (22 Jump Street, Foxcatcher) has been making wise acting selections recently and Mila Kunis (Black Swan) is a very skilled actress. They were cast by the Wachoskis, who are directing their own script, for the first time since The Matrix trilogy. On paper it sounds like a can’t miss movie. Jupiter Ascending was originally set to be released earlier this summer, perhaps you remember the earlier trailers. It was pushed forward until February 2015 from its original July 18th, 2014 release date. Clearly Warner Bros. has a lack of trust in the project and there were structural issues that needed attention.

Still almost a half a year from its debut, the latest trailer attempts to make sense of the plot and firmly introduce us to this world. Honestly, this is the type of trailer I wouldn’t show to someone who doesn’t like sci-fi films. This one trailer could end every debate with them on top. As a matter of fact, this film could end all science fiction for ever. Boom. Like Batman & Robin did for the Caped Crusader for eight years. Seriously though, this looks mind-numbingly bad and hopefully it will all make sense and unfold masterfully on the screen. However as of now, my mind can’t make sense of alien, space-dog in the form of Channing Tatum, complete with a tail. Check out the trailer:

Jupiter Ascending will be released February 6th, 2015.
