Christopher Nolan is the rare filmmaker where every time he releases a new movie, it becomes a cultural event. Think back to the mania leading up to The Dark Knight or how many times has the “Booooonng” sound from the Inception trailer been reused? However, his films certainly are not style over substance. In fact, Nolan is a master at packaging complex ideas into digestable material for the common movie-goer. While the exact details of the plot to his upcoming film, Interstellar, are unknown. McConaughey is rumored to play an an astronaut who leaves his family behind to travel through a wormhole, in order to find salvation for planet Earth. It looks to be a combination of science-fiction space exploration, grounded by classic human drama.

After the critical and technical success of Gravity, it is hard to think of another director better suited for the challenge of filming believable space sequences. Nolan is back with a cast of incredible actors to flesh out his latest movie, Interstellar. It stars Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone), Matt Damon (The Bourne Identity), Michael Caine (Batman Begins), Ellen Burstyn (Requim for a Dream), John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Topher Grace.

Interstellar will be released on November 7th, 2014.
