Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer is here

Earlier today Paramount Studios released their first trailer for this summer’s latest installment to their Transformers series, Age of Extinction. Michael Bay is returning to the director’s chair for the fourth time and he is up to all his familiar tricks. Here is the new trailer:

It looks as if this is a partial reboot. They replaced the human cast and kept the odd, overly complex character models for the Transformers. It seemed as if Bay had a nice opportunity to overhaul the whole feel of the series. When you have an entry as critically panned as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, there is endless available space for improvement. Mark Wahlberg replaces Shia Lebouf as the lead in the film, signifying a whole different narrative structure than previous installments. This time its a different family involved in an intergalactic war. See it’s totally different this time around… In the end you get the feeling it doesn’t really matter who it is running from an explosion in the sand, does it? Plus there are Dinobots in this one. And everybody loves robotic dinosaurs in their movies. We will find out June, 27th 2014 when Transformers: Age of Extinction is released.

Let us know if this trailer warms your inner Matrix!
