Television has come a long ways since The X-Files first became a phenomenon in the early 90’s. In the modern age, cinematic programming can now be found on the small screen with regularity thanks to the networks such as HBO and the availability of streaming services, such as Amazon and Netflix. However, The X-Files production values got as close to big-screen quality as was available at the time. In fact, the show went on to be adapted for the big-screen and even scored a sequel. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return to the show that defined their careers and look right at home back in their roles of Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively. They return to the series that ran from 1993-2002, which made it one of the longer running sci-fi shows in history and its cultural significance can not be understated. The new miniseries will have both standalone episodes and plot threads that connect to and answer some dangling questions from the show.
