The tagline for the movie has changed and it’s clear that Sony executives are truly uncertain if audiences will answer the call of the new Ghostbusters reboot. The first trailer has the dubious distinction as the most disliked trailer in Youtube history and the bizarre vitriol towards the cast and crew has been off the charts. The eyes of the industry are on the upcoming comedy with the movie’s summer release less than two months away, so a lot is riding on every reveal.
The second trailer doubles down on Ghostbusters nostalgia, using the original theme song, showing off proto-pack action, and everyone’s favorite floating blob of mucus from the 1980’s, Slimer. The newest look shows off more of Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth’s character moments, while highlighting the various ghost and ghouls that they will all encounter. In all honesty, this doesn’t look up to quality that we would expect from the Ghostbusters franchise, however you have to go to the theater to find out. Check out the trailer. Enjoy…or don’t!
