WATCH: Arrow Gets Some Color in the Trailer for the Fourth Season of (Green) ARROW

The fourth season of Arrow is a pivotal one. We will all look back at this time period and will either conclude that this is when the show embraced its comic book roots and took off, or when it jumped the shark. CW’s hit show has evolved a great deal since its debut in 2012, when it re-envisioned the origin story of Oliver Queen and created a new television star in Stephen Amell. Arrow began as a gritty (by CW standards) vigilante show which has gradually incorporated its comic book roots over the years.

This season will introduce many new supernatural elements that will push the show into uncharted territory, which will be needed as a cohesive DC Comics universe on television begins to form. The show already introduced Barry Allen which spawned, The Flash, which in one season has already become a bigger show than Arrow. Midway through this season the second spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow, will premiere which will expand the scope of the world that everyone is fighting in.

In the new trailer for the fourth season of Arrow, fans are treated to many new additions and developments to the television show. Among them are the first glimpses of Anarky, Mr. Terrific, a resurrected Sara Lance, and the return of Matt Ryan as Constantine, which should make a lot of fans happy. Also it is clear that Arrow’s retirement will only be temporary, as he commands his growing squad of vigilante fighters. Not to mention, it looks as if he will finally take on the mantle of the Green Arrow. It’s hard to not be affected by the show’s confidence and renewed energy this upcoming season. It is also comforting to know that the showrunners are also attracting quality talent behind the camera this season as well, such as Lexi Alexander who directed an episode. There is a lot to get excited about and it all begins next month. Enjoy the trailer.

Arrow returns for its fourth season on October 7th, 2015 on CW.
