One year ago the Star Wars community was in a frenzy, desperately wanting to be entertained by new stories from a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars Rebels was one of the first properties to come out from Lucasfilm, after they had reset their canon for the Star Wars universe and it was a smash hit. It explored the time period between episode 3 and 4, answering many long-standing questions from Star Wars enthusiasts. The new show also sheds light on the upcoming movies, which is an added bonus…because it’s already extremely entertaining on its own merits.
Star Wars Rebels doesn’t simply pay lip service to fans, it has a well thought out approach to telling its own story and establishing its own set of iconic characters. But feels very much like the universe that the first trilogy inhabited. However the creators of the show are doubling down and throwing in one of the most legendary villains in cinematic history, Darth Vader, to be the antagonist for the second season. Not a bad idea…
The importance of the series has never been higher as we soar into the era of Star Wars, with the release of The Force Awakens only two measly months away. The inquisitors and the history behind them look to once again figure prominently into the show and possibly even on the big screen eventually. We continue to follow the maturation of the crew of the Ghost and their growing sense of obligation to join the Rebellion. No character reflects this in the trailer more than Ezra, who’s journey is continually foreshadowed in the footage. His character becoming a “pirate Jedi” may also figure into the larger universe more than we are anticipating. Get ready because the world of Star Wars continues to expand, starting next week when Star Wars Rebels returns. Enjoy the trailer.

In “Star Wars Rebels” Season Two, past lives will be revealed and the destiny of our heroes will be changed forever. The transformative new season resumes with Imperial oppression on Lothal growing stronger and the rebels seeking out new allies and additional resources to sustain their fight against the evil Empire. With the help of Ahsoka Tano, the crew of the Ghost enlists some old friends: ex-clone troopers who fought in the Clone Wars. As the rebels grow in number, so do their enemies. New Inquisitors are dispatched by Darth Vader and sent to crush any threat of rebellion. Through dangerous rescue missions, thrilling space chases, and spectacular lightsaber duels – the bond of our rebel crew will be put to the test like never before.
There is a lot to look forward to in the second season of Star Wars Rebels. Fortunately we won’t have to wait much longer as it resumes airing on October 14th, 2015 on Disney XD.
