WATCH: Chris Pine and Ben Foster Team Up To Rob Banks in Trailer for HELL OR HIGH WATER

There is nothing better than a good bank heist film. Things get even better when the movie is populated with an all-star cast. That is exactly what we are getting with the upcoming thriller, Hell or High Water

Chris Pine is an interesting Hollywood conundrum. He is essentially seen as an action star due to his leading role in Star Trek, while actually having the credentials of a thespian. Pairing him with Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma) – who may be an even more underrated performer than Pine – is inspired casting that should be worth the price of admission in itself. The fact that they are facing off against Jeff Bridges (True Grit) adds another massive layer of intrigue to the project.

The movie looks to be a modern day western following two brothers who are pulling off a series of heists against the institution that wronged their family. Hopefully we get something a little more akin to Heat than Money Monster, but time will tell. Aside from the actors involved, it should also inspire confidence that Taylor Sheridan, the writer of Sicario, scripted this crime tale as well. Fortunately there is only a few months until the movie’s August release, so we won’t have to wait long to find out if this is the next great heist flick. Enjoy!

Official Synopsis:

A story about the collision of the Old and New West, two brothers — Toby (Chris Pine), a straight-living, divorced father trying to make a better life for his son; and Tanner (Ben Foster), a short-tempered ex-con with a loose trigger finger — come together to rob branch after branch of the bank that is foreclosing on their family land. The hold-ups are part of a last-ditch scheme to take back a future that powerful forces beyond their control have stolen from under their feet. Vengeance seems to be theirs until they find themselves in the crosshairs of a relentless, foul-mouthed Texas Ranger (Jeff Bridges) looking for one last triumph on the eve of his retirement. As the brothers plot a final bank heist to complete their plan, a showdown looms at the crossroads where the last honest law man and a pair of brothers with nothing to live for except family collide.

Hell or High Water opens on August 19th, 2016.
