Without a doubt one of the greatest films of all time is Back to the Future. Aside from being the prototype for creating the rules for time-travel that have been endlessly mimicked in movies, television, and games, throughout the years. Back to the Future is practically flawless narratively and structurally, with films from Hot Tub Time Machine to Looper all being influenced by the logic and science of the film’s space-time continuum.
The very nature of the film’s plot and themes lend itself to be timeless work, so it’s clear why thirty years after its initial release, it continues to captivate the imagination of movie fans. So it’s only fitting that we would get an in-depth look at the movie that both celebrates and chronicles the achievements and stories behind Back to the Future.
Director Jason Aron has assembled this star-studded retrospective, appropriately titled Back in Time, that includes Steven Spielberg, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Robert Zemeckis, Christopher Lloyd, and just about everyone else who you would want to hear from. The project came to life thanks to a Kickstarter campaign and it looks as if will deliver for fans of the franchise. It also seems as if it will be digging into a lot of the behind-the-scenes stories, such as the casting of Marty McFly, which have gone on to become the stuff of Hollywood legend.
This looks like a must-see for both fans of Back to the Future, as well as for film historians and buffs. This might hurt to hear for purists, or even for Zemeckis himself, but eventually someone will somehow remake the movie. So it seems like this is a good chance to appreciate this moment in history. Enjoy the trailer.
