When it was announced that last year would be the last of the Key & Peele show, the duo made assurances that their partnership would continue elsewhere. Not only is it continuing, but they are keeping the gang together that made the show a success. Peter Atencio is behind the camera as the director and along with Keanu co-writer Alex Rubens, have worked on numerous episodes of the hit show together. So this is practically Key & Peele the movie and it looks like it will deliver.
The movie centers on Peele’s character who is comforted by a kitten during a break-up. The caught is stolen and he enlists the help of his cousin, played by Key. The two have to get street-smart quickly, when the cat-nappers turn out to be ruthless gangsters. Before they know it, they find themselves in the middle of a brutal gang war and a ton of comedic moments. It honestly looks like a lot of laughs and it has a prime spot at the beginning of the summer, which signals that the studio has confidence in the movie. The movie also features Jason Mitchell, Will Forte, Gabrielle Union, Nia Long, and Method Man, in both expected and unexpected roles. It looks like this could be a surprise for comedy fans this April. Check it out!
