The Mission Impossible franchise has managed to stand the test of time. From the television show that capture the imagination of millions in the 1960’s, to the action franchise that Tom Cruise reinvigorated in the 1990’s, it has always found a way to seem fresh and on the cutting edge. In the film world it’s been defined by insane real-life stunts that the actor pulls off, that are worthy of acclaim and a head check. Cruise is like the Michael Jordan of doing insane shit. Seriously, is there any other actor that comes close to his level of dedication to earning his salary? It’s almost like he has a guilty conscience over the amount of zeroes on his checks, so he wants to pay back the world any way he can. This time around he figures the best way to repay society, is to hang out of a plane. And…well…Cruise was right again! This guy is clearly a forward-thinker.
Tomorrow we will be getting the full trailer for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, but we do already have an early teaser and it looks like an unbelievable amount of fun. Somehow the Mission Impossible franchise has never really ever gone stale and continues to reinvent itself with creative sequences and a rotating cast of eclectic actors. The newest film brings back Cruise as Ethan Hunt and also stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Simon Pegg (Star Trek), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and is directed by Christopher McQuarrie (The Way of the Gun, Jack Reacher).
