There are numerous reasons contributing to the success of Pixar over the past twenty years. Their animation style and vision has been a trendsetting force for 3D animation and almost all of their films are built on strong storytelling. Pixar’s films have dealt with growing up, the environment, and the loss of loved ones among other humanist themes. Well the animation company has found yet another universal theme that everyone can relate to…the complexity of the human mind.
Pixar’s upcoming feature Inside Out animates fear, sadness, anger, joy, and disgust, the emotions that affect all humans. The newest trailer gives the first good glimpse at the story. The main character, Riley, is relocating with her family which is hard on any child. It seems that Inside Out is going to take the audience on a ride through her mind as her emotions navigate Riley’s imagination, memory banks, and even a movie studio that produces her dreams. From the looks of the trailer it seems as if Pixar has found another story that will hook both kids and their parents. Enjoy the extended look at Inside Out.
Official Synopsis:
Set inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley, Inside Out knows that growing up can be a bumpy road. It’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco.
Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Poehler), Fear (Hader), Anger (Black), Disgust (Kaling) and Sadness (Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
Inside Out will be in theaters on June 19th, 2015.
