WATCH: The Final Trailer for ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Burn Rubber on Your Brain

Thanks to a brilliant Marvel marketing machine, many are unaware that the best action sequel to come out this May is not guaranteed to be Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Avengers sequel will certainly offer mind-blowing sequences and story reveals that will open up new possibilities in their own cinematic universe. However, Mad Max: Fury Road has the opportunity to offer the most raw, mature, and visceral action, that moviegoers have seen in years.

Director George Miller is jumping back in the director’s chair and navigating his franchise into the next millennium. Many were concerned when actor Tom Hardy passed on the opportunity to become DC Comics’ character, Rick Flagg, in the upcoming Suicide Squad. However, most were not realizing that he has a much more iconic character and world to play in, with Mad Max. Fury Road is a sequel to the The Road Warrior, with Hardy taking on the famous mantle of Max Rockatansky, that Mel Gibson once made iconic. He is joined be Charlize Theron, who by all accounts steals the show playing Imperator Furiosa. Nicholas Hoult also rounds out the supporting cast and seems to be in rare form enjoying the mayhem. Get ready because this May could offer a lifetime of action thrills and memories. Enjoy the trailer.

Official Synopsis:

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
