We are just three short days away from the premiere of the second season of Daredevil and that still is too long to wait. It seems that Netflix and Marvel Studios are well aware of the anticipation because they dropped the final look for their acclaimed series today to further increase fan’s appetites. We have already gotten two trailers, one that focused on the Punisher and a second that highlighted Elektra. This final trailer is lighter on story than previous versions and serves to show how much the action in the series has improved in its second season.
A large part of the appeal of the action in the first season, was the grounded take on fighting and combat. In some ways the approach was revolutionary by accounting for things as realistic as the combatants running out of breath. However, it wasn’t without its drawbacks as many scenes were poorly lit and the ninja action that the comic book is known for was largely relegated to the background.
This final trailer gives all assurances to those who worried that there would not be enough action in the second season of Daredevil. Terrance Stamp is back as Stick and he explains that there is an entire underworld that Daredevil failed to see (see what I did there) in the first season. It also shows that the world of Hell’s Kitchen, while brutally violent, is still inching closer to the world of the fantastic seen in the larger Marvel cinematic universe. It’s a great time to be a fan. Enjoy!
